Dr. Delbert Louis Anliker, the son of Ernest and Rickie Schaeffer Anliker, was born July 18, 1923 in West Bend, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in West Bend, where he received his education, graduating from West Bend High School.
Delbert married Irene Bleuer on May 9, 1943 in Denver, CO. He entered the military and served with the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943, until his honorable discharge in 1946. Following his discharge he continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. They moved to Spencer, Iowa, where he practiced at Anliker Chiropractic Clinic for 50 years. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and sang in the church choir. Delbert was also a member of the American Legion and the American Chiropractic Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood carving and fishing. He also enjoyed playing harmonica, playing at the Senior Center and nursing homes in the area.
Dr. Anliker passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Gene, Dale and Lynn Dean, in infancy, and a sister, Beverly Ross.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irene of Spencer; his children and their spouses: Marcia and Edward Rolenc of Iowa City, IA, Stephen and Mary Anliker of Cambridge, IA, Gregory and Laurie Anliker of Des Moines, IA, Dr. Brian and Lori Anliker of Milford, IA and Kimberly Berg of Davenport, IA; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Frances Westphal of Burlington, IA and Elma Lou Hohulin of Duncanville, TX; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, Iowa.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer. There will be a Vigil service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

INTERMENT
Burial will be following the lunch at 2:00 p.m. at the West Bend Cemetery in West Bend, Iowa. Military services will be conducted by the West Bend American Legion Post 151 following the graveside services.
Memorials may be given to Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa.
