Duane Klett

September 20, 1927 — June 7, 2011

Duane was born September 20, 1927 near Everly, IA. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Jeannine Koehnk on December 27, 1948 in Worthington, MN. He then graduated from Buena Vista College and began his career in education. Duane was a teacher and a coach at Thayer and Seymour, IA. He also spent 22 years as an elementary principal in Corydon, IA. Duane and his wife Jeannine retired and returned to Everly in 1989. Duane enjoyed his retirement years with family and friends and wintering in Texas. He was also quite an accomplished cook and golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanine and survived by his sons, Scott (Connie) and Mark (Linda) Klett; granddaughters, Stacey Klett, Stephanie (Josh) Chapman, and Tracy (Rod) Toney; also great granddaughters, Brittany and Brooke Toney. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of your choice.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place Friday, June 10, at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly at 10:30 A.M.

Visitation will take place Thursday, June 9, at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, starting at 5:30 P.M., with the family present from 5:30 - 7:30 P.M.
