Duane Robert Drees, the son of Richard Edward and Bernice Rose Gross Drees, was born July 5, 1960, in Carroll, IA. Duane was raised in the Danbury, Mapleton area and graduated from Maple Valley High school. Following high school, Duane continued his education and graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Autobody Technician.
Duane married Tara Lynn Levendowski on March 14, 1998, in Webb, IA. Following their marriage, they made their home in Webb. Duane worked at Don Pierson Ford, Asher Motor Company, Holzhauer Motors and for the past 3 years he owned and operated his own body shop in Webb. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb. In his spare time, Duane enjoyed hot rods, riding his Harley, restoring old tractors of all colors, attending the Clay County Fair and Albert City threshing bee, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Duane passed away on December 9, 2010 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 50. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alyssa Drees; mother-in-law, Cheryl Levendowski; grandparents, Joseph & Margaret Gross, Richard & Leona Drees; aunt, Pearl Brown; and uncle, Walter Gross.
Duane is survived by his wife, Tara of Webb; his children: Michelle Marie Krogstad and husband, Chad of Madison, WI, Stephanie Lynn Drees of Ankeny, IA and Emily Rose Drees of Webb, IA; granddaughter, Isabelle Alyssa Drees of Ankeny, IA; his siblings: David Drees and wife, Dawn of Danbury, IA, Eileen Flood and husband, Bob of Cedar Rapids, IA, Richard Drees and wife, Deidre of Missouri Valley, IA, Dale Drees and wife, Lynn of Sarasota, FL, Trisha Folchert and husband, Kevin of Sioux City, IA, and Donald Drees and wife, Michelle of Mapleton, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, December 14, at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, at 10:30 A.M.
