Edith Elizabeth Bjorklund, the daughter of John and Ruby (Negus) Anderson, was born March 1, 1943 in Marathon, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Marathon, where she received her education graduating from Marathon High School.
Edith married Donald Bjorklund on July 7, 1960 in Jackson, MN. After their marriage, they moved to Spencer, Iowa where she worked in the meat department for Super Valu for over 20 years. She was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Marathon. Most importantly of all, she enjoyed spending her time with her family. Edith and Don renewed their wedding vows following their 50th wedding anniversary.
She passed away unexpectedly at the Spencer Hospital on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the age of 73. Edith was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald of Spencer; two daughters and their husbands: Darla and Rob Larson and Heather and J. Cruz Gonzalez all of Spencer; one son, Doug and his wife, Pam Bjorklund of Spencer; 7 grandchildren: Travis (Amber), Todd (Katie) and Tyler (Lindsey) Larson, Boone (Christy) Bjorklund, Adrienne (Byron) Zun, Leticia Gonzalez and her special friend, Erick Garcia and Jaice Gonzalez; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, Eldon Anderson of Storm Lake, IA other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 10, 2016 at the United Pentecostal Church in Marathon, Iowa.
