Edith Reinke

January 27, 1913 — July 20, 2012

Edith Mae Reinke, the daughter of George and Idella Knau Reinke, was born January 27, 1913 in Manitoba, Canada. She received her early education in Geneva and then graduated from Hartley High School. Following her schooling, Edith worked at the Hartley Creamery, various waitress jobs in Hartley and later in Spencer. She also worked as a clerk in a 'dime store' in Storm Lake. Edith attended the Methodist Church in Hartley and Spencer. Most recently, Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer. In her spare time, Edith loved crocheting, making her family afghans and tablecloths, along with embroidering items for family and friends. Edith also enjoyed flower gardening, taking walks, playing cards and Scrabble. Edith passed away on July 20, 2012 at the Longhouse Residence at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ray, Glen and Don and her sister Dorothy. Edith is survived by her niece, Karen Seversen of Spencer; great niece, Andrea Tielbur; two great nephews: Scott Walmer and Dean Tielbur; her special friends, Frank and Jerry Scott; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Spencer.
