Edna Arvilla Walton

of Pomeroy, formerly of Everly, Ia. Edna Arvilla Walton, the daughter of Ray and Amelia (Olson) Allen, was born June 3, 1923, in Clear Lake, Minnesota. Her childhood years were spent in the Albert City, Iowa, area where she received her education, graduating from Albert City High School. Edna married Boyd Walton on January 19, 1942, in Dakota City, Nebraska. After their marriage, Edna and Boyd lived in Everly where she helped her husband operate a corn shelling and trucking business for over 50 years. She decorated cakes throughout the years, and spent many hours in her garden. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly and belonged to the Ladies Aid. For the last seven years, she resided at the Pomeroy Care Center in Pomeroy, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the Pomeroy Care Center at the age of 92. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Boyd in 1998; two sons: Larry and Ronnie Walton; one sister, Gladys Schossow; one brother, Herbert Allen; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Walton; one grandson, Michael Walton and one great-granddaughter, Michaela Olson. Edna is survived by one son, Darrel Walton of Everly, IA; two daughters: Sharon Sawyer and husband, Ken of Humboldt, IA and Judy Bailey and husband, Don of Pomeroy, IA; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother: Gene (Myrtis) Allen of Albert City, IA; sister-in-law, Jan Allen; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 3, at the Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
