Edna Emma Lundquist

Edna Emma Lundquist, the daughter of Roy and Meta (Massmann) Meyer, Sr., was born on August 18, 1936 in Paullina, IA. The family moved to Hartley where she received her early education and graduated from Hartley High School. Following high school, she moved to Spencer where she worked at Super Valu. Edna married Gary Lundquist on June 8, 1957, in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, she worked at Midstates Builders as a secretary for many years. Edna decided to retire and stay home to raise her two children until they went to school. She was very involved in both the Boy and Girl Scout's, serving as a den mother. She then returned to work at Sernett's and the Hallmark store at the mall. Edna was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking. Edna also enjoyed wintering in Texas, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Edna passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bernita Meyer; one brother, Homer Meyer; one nephew, Ken Meyer and two brothers-in-law, Ernest Back and Ivan Reese. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary of Spencer; one son Mark (Colleen) Lundquist of Rossie, IA; one daughter, Mary Fiedler (Steve) of Spencer; four grandchildren; three sisters: Bernice Back of Spencer, IA, Ethel Reese of Mallard, IA, and Alana Blair of Spirit Lake, IA; three brothers: Hilmer (Denyse) Meyer of Kettle River, MN, Wilmer (Terry) Meyer of North Glenn, CO and Roy (Drulene) Meyer, Jr. of Ocheydan, IA; her mother-in-law, Margaret Lundquist; other relatives and friends.
