Edna Marie Mett

February 5, 1932 — March 30, 2016

Edna Marie Mett, the daughter of John and Venita (Hansen) Westergard, was born on February 5, 1932, in Graettinger, IA. She was raised and attended country schools near Graettinger and graduating from Ruthven High School. After high school she moved to Spencer, where she worked for the telephone company. On March 4, 1955, Edna married Franklin Mett at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm southwest of Milford and then moved to Hartley. Edna was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She loved to cook and make big meals, she enjoyed tending to her large garden and strawberry patch. She loved to travel, taking trips to Europe and Africa. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and taking fishing trips with the family to Minnesota and Canada. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and was also involved in the Dorcas Society. Edna passed away on March 30, 2016, at the Lakes Regional Healthcare, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Elaine Henningsen, Marlys Kiehl, Doris Peton and Helen Souders; her brothers: Donald, Richard and Lyle Westergard; and four nephews. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Franklin of Milford; her daughter, Denise Magg (Randy) of Spirit Lake, IA; her son, James of Milford, IA; two granddaughters: Leisel Magg of Mason City, IA and Alicia Magg of Olin, IA; her sisters: Margaret Dalen and Shirley Anderson, both of Estherville, IA, and Carol Morrow of Spirit Lake, IA; two sisters-in-law: Janet Westergard of Estherville, IA and Delores Westergard of Graettinger, IA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, Iowa. Lunch will be served following the service.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, with the family present 5-7:00 p.m., at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
