Eileen Arndt

September 6, 1925 — April 6, 2017

Eileen Florence Arndt, daughter of Henry and Ellen Olson Ricklefs, was born on September 6, 1925 in Ayrshire, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ayrshire. Eileen graduated from Silver Lake Consolidated School in Ayrshire in 1943. She attended Hamilton School of Business and later worked as a secretary. Eileen married Lester Arndt on December 14, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ayrshire. They farmed near Ayrshire and during that time she was employed as a secretary to the superintendent at Ayrshire Consolidated School for 20 years. She very much enjoyed working with the staff, students and the public. Upon their retirement in 1984, they moved to Spencer. She was an active member of First English Lutheran Church. In 1997, she and Lester celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Eileen enjoyed gardening, flowers and traveling overseas and being with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Neil) of North Oaks, MN, a granddaughter, Ellen, of Scottsdale, AZ and grandson, Eric, of North Oaks, MN, brother Kenny (Betty) of Spencer, sister-in-law, Delores Peterson of Spencer and many relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at First English Lutheran Church is Spencer.
