Eleanor Justine Phelps

April 25, 1931 — December 3, 2014

Eleanor Justine Phelps, the daughter of Elmer and Ida Noethe Huss, was born April 25, 1931 in Royal, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Royal, where she received her education. Eleanor married Harold Phelps on November 29, 1952 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, Iowa. Following their marriage, the continued to live in Royal. She was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal serving with the Ladies Aide and Altar Society. Eleanor was a life member of the DAV Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and reading. Eleanor passed away at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD, on December 3, 2014 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Blackie and infant son, Larry. Left to cherish her memory are her children: son, Gary Phelps of Newton, Iowa and daughter, Joan Phelps of Royal, Iowa; granddaughter, Jennifer Phelps; one brother, Kenneth Huss of Jessup, IA; other relatives and friends.

SERVICES

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal.

VISITATION

Will begin at 5:00pm on Friday with a Catholic Vigil Service at 5:00pm. The family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00pm at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal.
