Elgar Alvin Erichsen

January 16, 1919 — April 2, 2008

Elgar Alvin Erichsen, the son of Hans and Martha (Grapenthin) Erichsen, was born January 16, 1919, in Brooke Township, Buena Vista County. His childhood years were spent on the family farm near Sutherland where he attended school and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1936. On October 5, 1947, Elgar was united in marriage to Edna Woodall at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. Following their marriage they farmed outside of Sutherland. Elgar was a member of the United Methodist Church and Men's Club. He held several offices on the Church Board. In his free time Elgar enjoyed the outdoors, especially wildlife and his animals. On April 2, 2008, Elgar passed away at his residence at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother in infancy. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Edna Erichsen; several cousins; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Iowa.

Visitation will begin 2:00 p.m., Sunday, with the family present 4 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland.

INTERMENT
Burial will be prior to the service at 12:15 p.m. Waterman Cemetery Sutherland, Iowa
