Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Fischer, the daughter of John J. and Edna Riessen Kupper, was born July 7, 1921 in Hartley, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Everly, where she received her education, graduating from Everly High School in 1939. She worked at the Drug Store in Everly from 1939 until 1941.
Betty married Ted Fischer on January 5, 1943 in Everly. Following their marriage, they lived in Lake Park for one year, moved to Hartley for 3 years, before moving back to Everly in 1946, where Ted farmed and Betty raised their family for the rest of their lives. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly, until it's closing, at which time they became members of St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing in card clubs with friend and celebrating at the family and friend's Fourth of July Picnics.
Betty passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the age of 88. Her parents preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ted of Everly; three daughters: Linda and her husband, David DeMuth of Denison, IA, Laurie and her husband, Tom Steinkamp of Carroll, IA and Lisa Myers and her special friend, Doug Laumbach of Everly, IA; 7 grandchildren: Deb and her husband, Bryan Perry of Indianola, IA, Cory and his wife, Nicole DeMuth of Lonsdale, MN, Marty DeMuth of Albert City, IA, Lindsey and her husband, Andy Chaffin of Denison, IA, Morgan Steinkamp of Ankeny, IA, Jessica Myers of Spencer and Dustin Myers of Everly; four great grandchildren: Luke Perry, Bailey Perry, Neve DeMuth and Dayton Willison; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 22, 2009, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Royal, Iowa

Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday night at Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
A Catholic Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Warner Funeral Home in Everly.
