Ella Elizabeth Seaman Wheeler, the daughter of Peter and Anna Reusch Seaman, was born February 8, 1909 in Sutherland, Iowa. She attended school in Sutherland and graduated with the class of 1927.
Ella married Charles Wheeler on February 16, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union, two sons where born, Glen and Gary Joe. Charles and Ella lived on the Wheeler farm west of Peterson. They farmed and later went into the painting business. They moved to Spencer in 1989. Ella was a member of the Peterson Methodist Church for over 75 years and held many offices in the Church including Sunday School teacher and Women's Society. In her spare time, Ella enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing.
Ella passed away on October 2, 2010 at the Northshire Residence in Spencer at the age of 101. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Glen and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, Gary Joe and his wife, Karen of Council Bluffs; daughter-in-law, Shirley Wheeler of Spencer, IA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the United Methodist in Peterson.
