Elna Leona Vogt, the daughter of William and Adelia (Schroeder) Puck was born on January 20, 1914 in Harris, Iowa. She received her early education in Harris, Hartley and graduated from Moneta High School.
On August 19, 1931, Elna married William Lyle Vogt in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Elna worked for the Dvergsten family at the Womans Shop for over 20 years and her husband was associated with Mugge Feeds. While living in Spencer, she was a member of Grace United Church. Elna loved to dance, she had the honor of dancing with Lawrence Welk. She also enjoyed playing the organ, cooking and sharing her sense of humor with other people.
Elna passed away on January 4, 2006 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Gaylord Vogt and his wife, Donna of Spencer, IA and Bob Vogt and his wife, Kris of Sioux City, IA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Puck of Coupleville, WA; her niece, Sandeanne Vetter and her husband Gale of Hartley, IA; two sisters-in law: Velma Vogt of Hartley, IA and Joyce Zinn of West Bend, IA; other relatives and friends.
