Elva LaRue Barglof, the daughter of Lloyd and Margorie (Lowe) Zesiger, was born July 31, 1936, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Moneta, Alta, and Everly, Iowa. She graduated from Everly High School.
On June 25, 1960, Elva was united in marriage to Duane Barglof, in Omaha, NE. Following their marriage they lived in Spencer, Iowa for 28 years. Following their divorce, Elva moved to Okoboji where she lived presently. She worked for Pixler Electric, Eddie Quinn's, and most recently owned antique shops in Spencer and Okoboji.
Elva was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. In her free time she enjoyed Garden Club, Questers, gardening, and making fair arrangements. She also had an antique call-in show aired on KICD where listeners could call in with antique questions.
On July 27, 2008, Elva passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joyce Ohden; and one brother, Verlyn Zesiger.
Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Rickaya Dawn Barglof Steffens and her husband Todd Steffens of Spencer, Iowa; and two brothers: Merlyn Zesiger of Omaha, NE, Bill Zesiger of Everly, Iowa; as well as nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be held 10:30am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
