Elvera Lauretta Kotrba

November 20, 1915 — April 8, 2017

Elvera Lauretta Kotrba the daughter of Arne and Helga (Fagirli) Arneson, was born on November 20, 1915, in Niobrara, NE. Elvera had two sisters: Julia and Amy and three brothers: Edward, Orville and Lester. Elvera graduated from Niobrara High School on May 22, 1935, and Wayne College on July 17, 1937. She taught school in Nebraska. On December 10, 1938, Elvera married John W. Kotrba, in Niobrara, NE. To this union a son, John Kotrba III was born on March 4, 1942, in Sioux Rapids and passed away that same day. John and Elvera farmed in the Rossie and Webb area. Elvera was a fulltime farmwife including milking cows, raising chickens and always having a large garden. John passed away in August 1988. Elvera is a member of the Webb Trinity Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She knotted many caps for the Methodist Ingathering's. She also was a member of the Neighborhood Club. She loved to read, playing bingo and cards, fish and made many afghans. Elvera and John enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Texas. Elvera passed away on April 8, 2017 at Northshire at the age of 101. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son, three brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Myrle Roberts of Royal, IA; her dear friend of the family for many years, Maynard Patten and his wife, Donna of Webb; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 13, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Webb
