Erwin Anton Barglof, the son of Anton and Nora (Garrett) Barglof, was born October 30, 1925 on a farm north of Greenville, IA. His childhood years were spent near Greenville, where he received his education, graduating in 1943. He entered the military and served with the U.S. Army from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Erwin married Marlyn Mae Myers on November 26, 1947 in Linn Grove, IA. After their marriage, they farmed four miles north of Linn Grove, IA. They had most recently lived at Riverview Terrace in Spencer. Throughout the years, he worked road construction, farmed and worked for Everetts & Welk for two years. He also fixed TV's for 30 years. He was an active member of the Congregational Church in Peterson, IA, where he taught Sunday school, was a youth leader and served on the church board. Marlyn and Erwin enjoyed many trips and cruises including their trip to Costa Rica and most memorable enjoyed their trip to the Panama Canal when they were able to take their children and their spouses.
He passed away at the Riverview Terrace in Spencer on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the age of 89. Erwin was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlyn of Linn Grove, IA; his children: Larry Barglof and his wife, Vicki of Linn Grove, IA, Linda and her husband, Marc of Stewartsville, MO, Betty Jean and her husband, Charles of Peterson and Cheryl Barglof of El Paso, TX; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren (with one due in December); other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at the First Congregational Church in Peterson.

Visitation will be open after 12 noon on Wednesday, with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00P.M., Wednesday evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
