Esther June Cuttell

Esther June Cuttell, the daughter of August and Ada (Fulton) Groth, was born June 30, 1917 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Spencer, where she received her education, graduating from Spencer High School. She later attended and graduated with a teaching degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. June taught school for one year in Hospers. June married Robert M. Cuttell on August 21, 1938 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they started farming in 1940 near Royal, Iowa. They moved to Everly in 1971, where her husband retired from farming and continued as owner of the Everly State Bank. June had made Spencer her home for the last three years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Everly, where she was a member of the UMW. Her hobbies included: bridge, golf, quilting, baking and attending the Clay County Fair. June passed away at PARC Hall in Emmetsburg, Iowa on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the age of 91. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert on April 3, 2002; a grandson, Scott Cuttell and an infant granddaughter, Paula Coakley. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Gary and Barb Cuttell of Spencer, IA, Jim and Char Cuttell of George, IA, JoAnn and Jim Coakley of Emmetsburg, IA and Jack and Mary Jo Cuttell of Peoria, AZ; 8 grandchildren: Deborah Ackerman, Denise Robinson, Cory Coakley, Brent, Greg and Diane Cuttell, Carla Bergstrom and Katie Cuttell; 15 great grandchildren: Becca, Tyler, Abby, Myles, Greta, Austin, Lincoln, Royce, Camden, Tatum, Scott, Briar, Kyle, Wyatt and Collin; a sister-in-law, Pat Cuttell of Rock Rapids, IA; other relatives and friends.
