Eva "Lou" Auberg

  Eva Lou (Roghair) Auberg was born in Sioux County in Orange City, Iowa June 2nd, 1931. She was born to Albert and Mable (Shannon) Roghair and was the oldest of 9 children. She attended school in Orange City and graduated in 1948. Upon graduation, she worked at VanWitchel bakery-grocery store. It was there that she met Henry. 

 Henry Goodwin Auberg and Eva Lou Roghair were married December 15, 1949 at First Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa. Henry and Lou had 5 children. Four were born while living in Boyden, Iowa and the 5th one came along while living in Allendorf, Iowa. All five children were born in Sheldon, Iowa.

 Lou loved to travel. Having been to Hawaii a couple of times and many other states, visiting friends and family. She loved life, her family and children. Having attended church most of her life, she was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer, Iowa. Lou loved bowling, having been in many leagues, she loved playing cards, dice games and board games. Lou worked various jobs, but her greatest joy was when it involved helping other people. 

 Eva Lou Auberg passed away on July 23rd, 2024 at St Luke Lutheran Home. Lou was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mable (Shannon) Roghair; her husband of 50 years Henry Goodwin Auberg; brother, John Edward Roghair of Texas; sister, Barbara Flanigan of California; sister, Ellen George of South Dakota and Texas; son, Russel Lee Auberg (65) of Spencer, Iowa.

 Lou is survived by brothers: Delbert (Del) Roghair of California, Albert Roghair Jr. of Louisiana, sisters: Florence Holcomb of California, Lorraine (Lorrie) Wells of California and Diane Parks of California.

 Surviving children and spouses: Ruth Lynn Albright, Gloria Kaye (Sam) Hollmig, Robert Henry (Fran) Auberg, Eric Carl Auberg; grandchildren: Sarah Rae Farrell, Randy Lou Swanson, Matthew Adam Albright, Chad Martin Albright, Shawn Michael Albright, Christopher Charles Martinez and Ryan Michael Auberg; great grandchildren: Christian James Carey, Cheyenne Nicole Carey, Nicholas Ryan Farrell, Luca Lee Swanson, Leslie Lou Swanson, Shawna Louise Albright, Trent Michael Albright, Jaxon Bryce Albright, Katie Lynn Albright, Aiden Allen Auberg, Allissia Marie Auberg, Tyler Michael Auberg, Christopher Patrick Leo Auberg, Isabella Christine Marie Auberg, Ryan Timothy Auberg, Shaylynn Gene Auberg. great-great granddaughter; Astelle LeeAnn Regenold.
