Eva Helen Chard

Eva Helen Chard, the daughter of E.R. and Hulda Anderson Walstrom, was born May 23, 1923 in Marathon, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from the Gillett Grove High School. Following her schooling, Eva continued her education at A.I.B. Community College in Des Moines. Eva married Kenneth Edward Chard on March 5, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Gillett Grove. Eva was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gillett Grove where she was also active in the United Methodist Women. In her spare time, Eva enjoyed reading, watching basketball and listening to music. Most of all, Eva loved spending time with her family and friends. Eva passed away on August 28, 2008 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on November 13, 1989 and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Holmich of Cherokee, Iowa; her son, Kenneth Chard of Gillett Grove, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Visitation will begin 5:00 P.M., Friday August 29, with the family present from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Friday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
