Evelyn Larson

Evelyn Alvera Larson, the daughter of Ted and Clara Knudtson was born on June 16, 1918 on the family farm in Graettinger, IA. Her childhood years and early adult years were spent in Graettinger. During World War 2, she worked in Des Moines, in the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. Evelyn married Ernest Larson on November 28, 1949 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer, IA. Evelyn was a wonderful homemaker and mom. She loved to take care of her large flower garden and made beautiful flower arrangements. Family was very important to her and she loved the big family get-togethers. She was a very kind hearted and giving person. Evelyn was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Evelyn passed away at the Ruthven Community Care Center on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the age of 98. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 2007; 3 brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, and Leland Knudtson; and 3 sisters, Ethel Jensen, Pearl Johnson, and Darlene Westrem. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Andrews of Estherville, IA; one grandson, Eric Erickson and his wife Melissa of Estherville, IA; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Erickson of Waterloo, IA and Carrie Erickson and her fiance Charlie Kaufman of Webster, SD; 2 great grandsons, Chase and Brenden; many nieces; nephews; and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will take place 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, Jaunuary 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
