On August 30, 2008, our beloved mother, Florence Brown passed away. During her 83 years, she was many things to many people. She was the love that lasted a lifetime for Burton, her husband of 57 years, who passed away in September 2003. She was "mom" to Lonnie, Rick, Dan, Julie, Jan and Nancy whom she adored every moment of every day. She was a doting grandmother, loving sister and caring friend.
Florence was born April 15, 1925, in Sutherland, Iowa, to Harry and Emma Hill. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1943 and was united in marriage to Burton Brown at the groom's parents' home in 1946. She was a member of the Sutherland Church of Christ, the American Legion Auxiliary and served on the Sutherland Library Board for many years.
A gentle spirit with a kind heart and never-ending capacity to love, mom touched the lives of more people than can be counted and leaves an indelible imprint on their lives.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children and their families, two brothers and two sisters and their families, other relatives and countless friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Sutherland.
