Florence Christofferson

August 13, 1917 — August 5, 2010

Florence Virginia Christofferson, the daughter of Robert and Carrie (Thompson) Andersen, was born August 13, 1917 in Spencer, Iowa. She received her education, graduating from Spencer High School in 1935. Florence married Bjerne (Buzz) Christofferson on August 20, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa. Florence worked as a bookkeeper and cashier at Woolworth for 18 years. She also worked at Montgomery Ward and seven years at Ellerbrook's Dress Shop. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Ladies Church Circle, and a volunteer for 13 years for the Department of Human Services. She also enjoyed gardening and embroidering. Florence passed away at the Spencer Hospital on August 5, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Freda Jensen. Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Gary (Carolyn) Christofferson of Spencer, IA, Ronald Christofferson of Clearwater, FL, and Mick (Connie) Christofferson of Milford, IA; a daughter, Karen (Mark) McClusky of Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers: Stanley (Doris) Andersen of Spencer, IA and Virgil Andersen of Fargo, ND, other relatives and many friends.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer
