Florence Margaret Brock, the daughter of Henry Peter Andrew and Anchen (Anna) Mohlenbrock Heldt, was born January 14, 1922 in Terril, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Terril, where she received her education, graduating from Terril High School in 1939.
Following high school, she worked in the Terril Drug Store, which is where she met her future husband. Florence married Bert Herman Brock on June 5, 1947 in Terril. Following their marriage they farmed near Milford, Iowa from 1950 - 1960. Florence and her husband then operated the gas station in Everly, Iowa from 1960 - 1965. Florence also maintained an upholstery business within her home throughout 1959 - 1983.
During her life she dedicated herself to her family. After marriage, both Florence's mother and grandmother lived with Florence and her husband until their respective deaths. In addition to caring for them, Florence was very involved with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews which all brought smiles to her face. Her hobbies were crafts, sewing, baking, gardening, and canning delicious homegrown foods. In addition, Florence was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly where she served on the Altar Committee.
After her husband's death in 1998 she moved to Spencer and lived at Bee Hive Homes, and later to St. Luke's Lutheran Homes and Services until her death on April 27, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Schomaker of Lino Lakes, MN and Nancy (John) Welle of Fostoria, IA; four grandchildren: Kristina Schomaker of Harrisburg, SD, Tonya (Kevin) Rowe of Blaine, MN, Lisa Welle of Iowa City, IA, and Daniel Welle of Fostoria; two great-grandchildren: Asher and Olivia Rowe of Blaine; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 2, 2011, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.

Visitaion will begin after 2:00 P.M., Sunday, with the family present from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Everly.
