Florence Maye Freeburg

Florence Maye Freeburg, the daughter of Earnest and Edna Myers Tuttle was born August 1, 1923 in Greenville, IA. After her mother passed away, Florence moved to Spencer, IA where she grew up and attended school. Florence married Gus Jr. Freeburg on January 31, 1942. They lived in Colorado for many years before moving to Omaha, NE for 3 years, until Gus passed away in 1977. Florence spent some time in Florida with her daughter, and then returned to Spencer, where she remained until December 2011, until moving to Florida and then Georgia with her daughters. Florence was an avid Nascar fan and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Florence passed away at Haralson Nursing and Rehab Center in Bremen, GA on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Earnest Freeburg, and a great-granddaughter, Taylor McDowell. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters, Vickie Resene of Bremen, GA and Valarie (Buddy) Newby of Ocala, FL; one daughter-in-law, Marjorie Freeburg of Spencer, IA; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, along with many great-great-grandchildren; her best friends/cousins, Lillian and the Tuttle girls other family members and many friends.
