Florence A. Woolston, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Burgeson, was born on January 21, 1916, in Peterson, Iowa. She graduated from the Peterson schools.
She was united in marriage to J. Clair Woolston on February 21, 1935, at the Methodist Church in Peterson. They were blessed with two sons, Ronald and Kenneth. The made their home on the family farm northeast of Sutherland for over fifty years, where their love of the land was shown by the fact that they were the third generation of the Woolston family to live there. Florence served at Maple Grove Church of God playing the piano and organ and teaching Sunday school for many years. She also was a nurse's aid for several years at the Hartley Hospital. She loved being able to help others. Florence also enjoyed doing needlepoint.
Florence passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2008 at the Longhouse Nursing Home in Spencer, Iowa.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Ronald and Ken's wife Evelyn; grandchildren Tami, Todd, David, and Stephanie; and great-grandchildren Melissa, Mitchell, Jennifer, Lindsey, Seth, and Noah. Also a sister, Nelda Baker and sister-in-law, Irma Burgeson, as well as many other extended family and friends are left to remember Florence.
SERVICES
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Maple Grove Church in rural Sutherland.
