Floyd Forrest Faulkner, the son of Gerald and Golda (Hupp) Faulkner, was born December 14, 1941, in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education. Following his schooling, he worked as a truck driver for several years.
Floyd worked at Sieh’s Farm Drainage for most of his working life until he became disabled in 1995 and was forced to retire.
He married Wilma (Gloyd) Sweet on February 28, 1992, at the Assembly of God Church in Spencer, Iowa. Throughout the years, Floyd attended many different churches. He enjoyed motorcycles and camping in his spare time. Floyd was also a member of AA and “A Friend of Bill.”
Floyd passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa, on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Torgenson; three brothers: Warren, Darrell and John; two sisters: Colleen Smith and Shirley Faulkner; and great-granddaughter, Shayla Rohrbaugh.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma of Spencer, IA; one daughter, Tammy Nighswonger of Spencer, IA; one son, Jerry (Lucille) Faulkner of Spencer, IA; stepchildren: Heather Sweet of Spencer, IA, Justin (Heather) Sweet of Spencer, IA, and Aaron Sweet of Hartley, IA; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marge Quist of Spencer, IA, and Bessie Orlando of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Iva Faulkner; his dog, Bear; other relatives and friends.
