Forrest M. Adams, the son of Hubert and Nancie (Mills) Adams, was born August 12, 1918 I Alliance, NE. His childhood years were spent in the Gillett Grove area, where he received his education. He entered the military in 1942, and served with the Army Air Corps with the 190 3rd Engineers Aviation Battalion in Okinawa and Iwo Jima, until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Forrest married Lois Boers on October 16, 1949 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, he did construction work for various contracting companies. Later, they lived in Spencer, where he worked at Hyline and also worked as a driver for A & M Laundry, where he was employed until his retirement after 29 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. He was also an active member of the American Legion and the VFW in Spencer. He enjoyed craftwork and woodworking as well as walking, camping and riding his motorcycle.
Forrest passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; one sister and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Spencer; 2 sister-in-laws: Mrs. Rex (Marjorie) Bever of Milford, IA and Mrs. James (Ada) Lauck of Spencer, IA; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30p.m., Wednesday, February, 25, 2009, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
Military services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer and American Legion Post #384 of Milford, IA.
