Frances Gertrude Hepworth, the daughter of Albert and Emma Gross Mauer, was born on February 1, 1913, in Clay County, Iowa. She received her early education and graduated from the Rossie High School. Frances continued her education in Sioux City to become a Registered Nurse.
Frances married Ralph Hepworth on February 1, 1936, in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Moneta area where they made their home. Frances worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha and at the Spencer Hospital where she retired in 1983. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Royal where she was the church organist for 15 years. She also held offices with the United Methodist Women. Frances was a 4-H leader for 8 years and a member of Federated Club. In her spare time, Frances enjoyed flowers, gardening and loved spending time with her family.
Frances passed away on September 30, 2011 at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 98. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph on November 16, 1973; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her children: Clifford Hepworth and his wife, Sandra of Royal, and her daughter, Cheryl Stanley of Spencer, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Walt) Slipke of Okoboji, IA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Royal.
