Frances Irene LeMaster, the daughter of Clive and Alta (Wittchen) Prentice, was born on February 26, 1920 in Terril, IA. She graduated from Everly High School in 1937. Frances went to Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Nursing from 1938-1941. She was a R.N there until she married Everett LeMaster on January 20, 1942. They farmed near Royal until retiring to Spencer in 1994. Frances worked as a R.N. at the Spencer Municipal Hospital for 3 years and also at St. Luke Lutheran Home for 14 years. She was a member of the Royal Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of the Clay County Garden Club. She was an accredited flower arrangement judge. In 1985 her farm gardens won her the Gardener of the Year Award. She earned many ribbons for her flower and table arrangements at the Clay County Fair. She loved beautiful things, especially flowers and lawns with no dandelions or leaves. She collected coins, stamps, recipes, newspaper and magazine pictures and genealogy. Everything she did was meticulous.
Frances passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Northshire Residence in Spencer at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her parents; her brother, Meryl Prentice and son-in-law, Dennis Anderson.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joanne Anderson and her husband, James Davis of Plymouth, MN; 3 grandchildren: Timothy Anderson (Cindy), Kari Shideman (Charles) and Corey Anderson (Janelle); 9 greatgrandchildren and other relatives.
