Frances Vivian 'Peters' Slinger, was born at Sibley, Iowa on October 5, 1926. She grew up in the Hartley area where she attended country school.
She married Robert (Bob) Peters on January 29, 1942. To this union three daughters were born. They farmed for a while, later moving into Hartley, where her husband worked for Lars Bersheim. She worked at the Hartley Creamery candling eggs, then Pamida and later Aalf's in Spencer. Bob passed away in 1985.
Frances married Henry Slinger in 1986. She worked as a CNA at Primghar Nursing Home. She later divorced and moved to Sanborn and later George, IA. She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, and dancing. She moved into Hartley Health Center in 2008.
She passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley on Monday, January 5, 2015 after a brief illness at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a brother, Hilbert 'Bud' Rindles and brother-in-laws, Bob Bell and Erv Rebik.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Beverly (Mickey) Kraft of May City, Shirley (Bob) Miller of Sutherland and Edna Shuck of Spencer, IA; a sister, Ruth Rebik of Marshalltown, IA; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; other nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
