Fred Alvin Kellum

February 13, 1914 — July 17, 2006

Fred Alvin Kellum, the son of Benjamen Orville Lee and Mary Aloth (Malicoat) Kellum, was born on February 13, 1914 in Republic, MO. His childhood years were spent near Peterson where he attended country school. Fred left school in the 7th grade to help his family on the farm and also by working for other farmers in the area. He later worked for the Civil Conservation Corp in which they built shelter houses and help develop parks. On January 13, 1936, Fred married Genevieve Lambertus in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer where he worked various jobs and drove truck. In 1945 he began farming, living on various farms in the Spencer area. In 1966, He moved into Spencer and started his own heating and electric business. While living in Spencer he attended the Assembly of God Church, where he was a Deacon. In 1995, Fred and Genevieve moved to Rockford, IL, to live with their daughter, Jeanette. In 1996, Genevieve passed away; the couple had been married 60 years. In 1999, he moved to Arkansas with his daughter. Fred enjoyed helping other people and spending time with his family, they were his life. In his later years, he liked to be on his computer and enjoyed listening to Genevieve play the piano. He also was an avid reader and liked to go fishing. On Monday July 17, 2006, Fred passed away at the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve; his two grandchildren: Natalia Perkins and Verna Carlini and one great-grandchild Sitarah Carlini and two brothers: Melvin and Howard. Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters: Virginia Grenlund of Western Grove, AR, Jeanette Utley and her husband, Gale of Western Grove, AR, Joyce Sweet of Western Grove, AR and Lois Perkins and her husband, Robert of Guy, AR; one son, Dale Kellum and his wife Margaret of North Platte, NE; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Virginia Elgersma and her husband, Ervin of Lincoln CA; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 21, 2006, at Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at Noon on Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday night at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.
