Frederick "Fritz" Aaron Wagner, Sr., the son of Wesley and Gladys (Salton) Wagner was born May 17, 1933 in Laurens, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Ruthven, IA area where he attended country school and graduated from Ruthven High School.
Fritz enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until his medical discharge. He married Mitzi Anderson on June 2, 1955 in Jackson, MN. He farmed in the Hartley, IA area and worked the Star Mail Route for 44 years, until his retirement in 2009.
Fritz liked to compete in rodeos in his younger years. He enjoyed his Hy-Vee coffee time, as well as car races, baseball, the Clay County Fair, traveling, and spending time with family. He was also a 50-year member of the American Legion.
Fritz passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at Spencer Hospital at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Boyd Bushey.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mitzi of Spencer, IA; 3 children, Frederick Wagner, Jr. of Spencer, IA, Robin (Randy) Albert of Spencer, IA, and William (Laurie) Wagner of St. George, UT; 5 grandchildren, Traci (Dan) Genson, Christopher (Shelby) Albert, Douglas (Taylor) Albert, Wesley (Rebekah) Wagner, and Dustin Wagner; 4 great-grandchildren, Kahlie and Addyson Genson, Kinnick Albert and Maren Albert; one sister, Jean Bushey of The Plains, OH; one brother, Bill (Alice) Wagner of Somerset, KT; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 11, at the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.
