Gary Dean Blair, the son of John and Maggie (Morris) Blair was born on December 29, 1932, near Gillett Grove, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Greenville and Rossie, IA area where he attended school. Gary worked for various farmers growing up, until moving to Spencer, IA in 1950. He married Lorraine Boettcher on July 20, 1956 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. He worked for A&M Laundry for 39 years, before retiring in 1990. Gary enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and Snowmobiles. He liked tinkering on things in the garage and going to Hy-Vee and people watching. He was a member of the Eagle's for 44 years. Gary passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Arlo and Norman Blair. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Lorraine of Spencer, IA; 2 sons, Michael Blair and Bradley (Beth) Blair all of Spencer, IA; 2 grandchildren, Brianna Blair of Spencer, IA and Justin and Jessica Blair of Sioux Falls, SD; one step-grandchild, Brooke Pierson of Laurens, IA; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Marlyn) Blair of Spencer, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 14, at the Warner Funeral Chapel in Spencer.
