Gary Brigham

Gary Lee Brigham, the son of Arthur and Helen (Banks) Brigham, was born in Spencer, IA, on October 1, 1941. Gary was raised and attended school in Everly, where he graduated from Everly High School in 1960. Following graduation, he farmed with his father west of Milford for a couple of years. On November 25, 1962, Gary married Arliss Elkin and to this union two children were born: Tammy and Todd. The couple continued to farm near Royal, before moving to Spencer in 1964, where Gary worked at the Merrill Company. The couple later divorced. Gary then went to work for Sieh's Farm Drainage where he continued to work for over 40 years. Gary loved working there, it was his home away from home, he loved driving heavy equipment, working at the gravel pit and moving snow. Gary was an avid NASCAR fan. He also liked watching The Voice, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. He enjoyed music and playing pool, and winning pool tournaments. Gary passed away on May 11, 2015 at his home at the age of 73. He is preceded in death by his father and one sister-in-law, Patricia Brigham. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Helen Brigham of Spencer, IA; his daughter, Tammy Haggart of Omaha, NE; one son, Todd Brigham and his wife, Patty of Spencer, IA; six grandchildren: Samantha, Tyler, Cody, Jacob, Chris and Courtney; one great grandchild, Mya; one brother, Bruce Brigham of Everly, IA; his dog, Poochy; other relatives and friends.
