Gary Lee Logan

Gary Lee Logan, the son of John and Helen (Underwood) Logan was born March 28, 1940 in Spencer, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School. Following high school, he worked at various service stations in Spencer. He later moved to Milford and worked construction. Gary married Darlene Alger and to this union six children were born: Denny, Shelly, David, Darin, Doyle and Shannon. Following their marriage, they moved to Windom, MN where he worked at a car dealership as a mechanic. They later moved to Primghar, Iowa, where he owned and operated a Kerr-McGee service station for many years. Gary moved to Rockford, IL and worked for a car dealership and U-Haul. In 1991, he moved back to Spencer. He drove truck for the last 18 years, most recently with Rembrandt Enterprises. Gary loved working on old cars, running cars in the figure 8 races in Primghar, working, riding motorcycles and riding horses. He passed away at Spencer Hospital on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Trent Logan and his first wife, Darlene in 1992. Left to cherish his memory are his significant other Connie Poulin, of Spencer; his six children: Denny (Susan) of Primghar, Shelly Wurn of Primghar, David of Rockford, IL, Darin (Amy) of Primghar, Doyle (Roxanne) of Primghar, Shannon Fricton (Culley) of Coats, NC and Tasha Poulin of Spencer; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, John 'Jack' Logan (Bev) of Des Moines, IA; special friends, Bill and Kenda Hedden of Spencer; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. When an Angel rings their bell, it's one life for another, welcome to the family, Harper Darlene Depew.
SERVICES
Services will be held at 1:00P.M., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
