Gary Wayne Walker, the son of Harland "Tex" & Martha Lena (Hayenga) Walker was born February 26, 1953 in Minneapolis, MN. His childhood years were spent in Camarillo, California, where he received his education, graduating from Camarillo High School. In 1978, he moved to Spencer, Iowa, where he worked at Nielsen Tire and Sears as an appliance and repair specialist, until opening his own business, Walker Appliance Repair.
Gary married Barbie Stevenson on December 21, 1990 in Spencer, Iowa. For the last 10� years, Gary worked for the Eaton Corporation in Spencer. He was a proud member of the "Spencer Bunch" for 30 years.
Gary passed away at his home near Spencer, Iowa on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Barbie of Spencer; one son, Neil Walker of Houston, TX and his daughter, Alannah Walker; one daughter, Nicole Walker Avery and her son, Fletcher "Hugh" Avery of Denver, CO; his panhead; Walker was also survived by his brothers.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer.
A lunch will be held at the "Spencer Bunch" Clubhouse following the services at the church.
