Gary William Hans

     Gary William Hans, the son of Henry and Doris (Williams) Hans was born June 1, 1949 in Santa Monica, CA. His childhood years were spent in the Granada Hills, CA area where he attended school.

     Gary married Helen Thomson and made their home in Simi Valley, CA and later Lancaster, CA. He worked as a mason and carpenter his whole life. Gary was baptized in 2017. He moved to Albert City, IA in 2018 and Spencer, IA in 2021.

     Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, barbequing, and especially spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered for how appreciative he always was in life.

     Gary passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home in Spencer, IA, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Hans; and one sister Linda Baastianse.

     Left to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters, Michelle Hawkins of Roseville, CA and Joi Kohn of Santa Barbara, CA; 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, and Kaitlynn Hawkins; 2 great-grandchildren, Akiah and Hayden Hawkins; one brother, Jon Hans of Garden Valley, CA; one sister, Lisa Steemke of Albert City, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
