George Kirchner

April 29, 1935 — November 10, 2011

George Donald Kirchner, the son of Kenneth and Juanite Williams Kirchner was born April 29, 1935 in Iowa City, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Everly area where he graduated high school. He joined the Air Force in 1956 and served until his honorable discharge in 1960. George married Carole Evjy on November 25, 1961 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. He was a jack-of-all-trades, working as a tree trimmer, landscaper and farmer, until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed metal detecting, collecting rocks and coins and tinkering around with things. George was preceded in death by his parents and wife Carole in 2001. He passed away November 10, 2011 at home at the age of 76. Left to cherish his memory is his 4 daughters, Constance (Kerry) Sanders of Georgia, Rebecca (Ronald) Sondergard of New Jersey, Deborah Kirchner of Spencer, Iowa, and Kimberly Kirchner of Montana; 2 granddaughters; other relatives; and many friends.

SERVICES

Memorial graveside services will take place 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 22, at Oakland Cemetery in Peterson, Iowa
