Gerald Frederick Freitag

Gerald Frederick Freitag, the son of Lester and Geneva Anderson Freitag, was born July 4, 1931 in St. Paul, MN. His childhood years were spent in the St. Paul area where he received his education. Gerald married Marie Horck on January 21, 1956 in New Port, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in the St. Paul area where Gerald worked at Gould Battery and Pier Foundry. He also owned and operated his own Jewelry business, which he worked with rocks. Gerald and Marie moved to Spencer in August of 2004. Gerald enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. Gerald was a member of Odd Fellows. Gerald passed away on December 10, 2011, at Longhouse Residence in Spencer at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Les. He is survived by his wife, Marie of Spencer; one son, Scott of Spencer; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dick Freitag of St. Paul, MN; one sister Barbara Dodlewiski of Clarence, NY; other relatives and friends.
