Gladys 'Babe' Irene Mills, the daughter of Raymond and Maude (Riednour) Bliss, was born July 22, 1922 in Battle Creek, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Battle Creek, where she received her education, graduating from Battle Creek High School in 1940.
Babe married Burton Warntjes in Sioux City, Iowa and to this union was born one son, Thomas. During the time of their marriage, she worked at Larson Beauty Salon and later Swanson's Bakery.
She later married Oscar Mills on April 18, 1973 in Jackson, MN. After their marriage, they lived in Greenville, IA for over ten years until moving back to Spencer in 1985. Oscar passed away in 1986. Babe was a member of the Greenville Congregational Church, the VFW and the Heritage Group. Throughout the years, Gladys loved to fish, sew, raise her flowers, play bingo and cards.
Gladys passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one grandson Bryan; two sisters: Grace and Gay and five brothers: Dale, Vern, Harold, Bob and Jim.
Left to cherish her memory is one son, Tom and his wife, Jerri Warntjes of Spencer; three grandchildren: Kevin (Brenda), Kelly (Sean) and Jennifer; 3 great-grandchildren, Mallory, Jordan and Taylor; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will take place 2:00P.M., Friday, November 22, at the Greenville Congregational Church in Greenville.
