Gladys Mae Stoever

Gladys Mae Stoever, the daughter of Russell and Ruth (Moffitt) McConnell, was born May 7, 1931, in Marcus, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Marcus where she received her education, graduating from Marcus High School in 1949. After her schooling, she worked for a clothing store in Marcus. Gladys married Leonard Stoever on October 5, 1952, in Marcus, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple lived in Germantown, Storm Lake, Schaller and then Spencer, Iowa, where she made her home. She worked at K-Mart as an office manager for 18 years until her retirement in 1994. Gladys enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. She was an active member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Spencer. She passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa, on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the age of 86. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard in 2005; two sisters: Marjorie Beaton and Vera Puhrmann; and one brother, Glenn McConnell. Left to cherish her memory are her children: David (Marcia) Stoever of Milford, IA, and their children: Sarah (Steven) Seehusen, Anne (Michael) Garcia and Nathaniel Stoever (special friend, Karli Diede); Linda (Jeff) Selly of Faribault, MN and their children: Jared, Aaron, Amanda and Luke; Karen (Kevin) Hansen of Council Bluffs, IA, and their children: Krista and Kehly; and Tim (Kimberly) Stoever of Spencer, IA, and their children: Caleb, Kelsey (special friend, Konrad Campe), and Ian; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Isla, Drew, Jerron, Tallis, Gabriel, Lydia, Avery, Aaliyah and Dominic; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
