Gladys Stamer

Gladys Mae Stamer, the daughter of Orvel and Clara Hagedorn Wede, was born January 10, 1928 on a farm northeast of Sutherland, Iowa. She received her education at Grant #8 country school northeast of Sutherland and later graduated from Larrabee High School. On February 14, 1948, Gladys married Clarence Stamer in Sutherland. Most of their life was spent on farms in the Sutherland area. Gladys was a homemaker and farmer. She worked side by side with Clarence with their dairy cows and their farming operation. In their spare time, they enjoyed going to dances and "coffee time" with her friends. She took great pride in the appearance of their farm, keeping the lawn groomed and her flowers blooming. She was a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Gladys passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, Iowa at the age of 80. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Delbert Wede; a sister-in-law, Luella Wede and her husband, Clarence in 2002. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Carol and her husband, Randy Kennedy of Spencer, IA and Donna and her husband, Dennis Johnson of Coon Rapids, MN; five grandchildren: Jodi and her husband, Matt Havlicek, Holli Kennedy, Callie and her husband, Jason White, Kyle and his wife, Kathrine Johnson and Karina and her husband, Dewey Reilly; 6 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.

Visitation will begin 2:30 P.M., Tuesday with the family present from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday Evening at the Warner Funeral Home in Sutherland.
