Glen Kenneth Edge, 90, died comfortably at the home he shared with his daughter, Stephanie, in Kentucky, on July 29, 2013. Ken was born June 05, 1923 in Estherville, Iowa, to Margaret Louise Brown and John Wesley Edge. A World War II veteran, he served his country for many years, active in the Army of the United States and in the Army Reserves. He was a graduate of the Military Intelligence Service Language School and spoke fluent Japanese. GK was a career banker, working for many years beside his father at the iconic Farmers Trust and Savings Bank in Spencer, moving to Graettinger, Iowa, where he served the community as President and owner of the Graettinger State Bank. Ken was active in community theatre in Spencer and Emmetsburg, and collaborated to create the Hillcrest Golf Course in Graettinger. He loved to play cards. Ken Edge was preceded in death by daughter, Valerie Kay, son Forbes Elliot, brother Robert and sister Rosemary. Aggrieved at his loss are daughters, Stephanie Gjerde and Jennifer Edge, brothers Donald and John Edge, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will be open to the public, Saturday, September 14, 10:00 am at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Military Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer.
