Glenn Allen Wetherell, the son of Ralph and Violet Stanton Wetherell was born December 21, 1948 in Iowa City, IA. He grew up in the Storm Lake, IA area where he attended Storm Lake schools. He served in the U.S. Army from January 4, 1968, until his honorable discharge on January 3, 1974.
Glenn married Norene Loveland on October 1, 1976, at First Congregational Church in Spencer, IA. He worked for Loveland Trucking for 2 years, Terrace Park Dairy for 7 years, owned and operated AG Promotional Products, Eaton's for 7 years and part-time for Asher Motor Company.
Glenn was a member of the Evening Shade Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M., Abu Bekr Shrine Club and Spencer Shrine Club, where he served as director for the ATV Parade Unit. Glenn was a member of First Congregational Church in Spencer and served on the Board of Benevolence and as PF Adviser. He was a member of the VFW, Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years, and was President of Sertoma.
In 2001 Glenn received the Governor's Volunteer Of The Year Recognition Award. He volunteered time to many areas of the community including the ACT Now committee, annual Flight Breakfast, Flagfest, Thanks With Franks, Ragbrai and others.
Glenn Enjoyed traveling and he and Norene took a number of cruises to the Caribbean, Mexico and Alaska. His favorite trips were those that he knew he could see wildlife or fish for salmon. Some of his favorite places for short trips were Duluth and Door County.
Glenn passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Spencer Hospital at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers: Clifford, Burton, Charles, Dick, and Paul Wetherell; 4 sisters: Marge Dicks, Phyllis Brown, Darlene Wetherell, and Mary Katherine Wetherell; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Alberta Loveland.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Norene of Spencer; one son, Gary (Lacy) Enderson of Spencer, IA; 5 sisters: Berniece (Harold) Heschke of Carson City, NV, Helen Fredericksen of Cherokee, IA, Sharron (Larry) Hervey of Newton, IA, Shirley (George) Francis of Havelock, IA, and Carole (Dale) Culp of Deschler, NE; 3 brothers: Dale (Rose) Wetherell of Storm Lake, IA, Bill (Connie) Wetherell of Whiting, IA, and Denny (Faye) Wetherell of Woodbridge, VA; 3 sisters-in-law: Erla, Sophie and Carol Wetherell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will take place 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 23, at First Congregational Church in Spencer.
