Glenn Meredith Jacobson

Glenn Meredith Jacobson, the son of John and Isabel Jacobson, was born May 20, 1915 in Havelock, Iowa. Glenn was educated in the Havelock School District. Glenn and his father operated the Standard Service Station in Peterson from 1935 to 1947. On April 7, 1936, he married Jean Gilleas in Cherokee, Iowa. The had one daughter, Penee. In 1947, the family moved to Spencer, where Glenn was employed at K & D Bootery, J.C. Penney's and Eddie Quinn Clothier. Glenn retired in 1980 and spent the majority of his remaining years in Spencer at the Sunset Apartments. In 2007, Glenn moved to Albert Lea to be close to his daughter and family. He always had fond memories of the many years he spent in Spencer. His daily walks, no matter the weather, from Sunset Apartments to the A & W Restaurant always brightened his day. If perhaps you don't remember Glenn - you may remember his greeting to everyone he met - which was, "HOW YOU KIDS DOIN TODAY?" Glenn passed away on May 1, 2010 at the Thorne Crest Health Care Center in Albert Lea, MN at the age of 94. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents and a brother, Donald. Glenn is survived by his daughter, Penee and her husband, John McGaughey, of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren: Robin and her husband, John Arnold of Zumbro Falls, MN and Patrick and his wife, Julie McGaughey of Chanhassen, MN; three great grandchildren: Brynn Claire and Isaac Olson of Zumbro Falls and Sean McGaughey of Chanhassen; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer, Iowa.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.
