Glenna Dean Brott, the daughter of Freeman and Millie Brasel Tanner was born January 23, 1929 in Mattoon, Illinois. Her childhood years were spent in the Mattoon area where she attended school, graduating from Mattoon High School in 1946. She married William Brott on September 27, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Glenna graduated with honors from Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota and was also Valedictorian of her class. She was an accomplished pianist, choir director, and wrote plays. She always stayed busy with making crafts, quilting, and sewing. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church pastoral ministry for 55 years. She remembered to send birthday cards every year to all of her 19 grandchildren as well as her 15 great-grandchildren and her greatest joy was spending time with family.
Glenna passed away Thursday, March 21 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, William of Ruthven, Iowa; 6 children, Carol (Dan) Koenig of Oregon City, Oregon, David (Kathy) Brott of Omaha, Nebraska, Richard (Karen) Brott of Portland, Oregon, Janice (Jeffrey) Neihart of West Linn Oregon, Julie (Mark) Powell of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Daniel (MeLisa) Brott of Omaha, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Tanner of Indiana; 2 sisters, Janet Tanner of St. James, Minnesota, and Faith Wagner of Ocala, Florida; nieces; nephews; other relatives; church family; and a host of friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will take place 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 25, at Faith Pentecostal Church in Spencer.
