Grace Handy

Grace Evelyn Handy, the daughter of Joseph and Della Cook Cottrell, was born January 26, 1938 in Palm Springs, CA. She received her early education and graduated from high school in California. On February 20, 1954, Grace married Darrell Handy in Tiajuana, Mexico. Following their marriage, they moved to Bellflower, California. They then moved to Balch Springs, Texas for two years. In 1971, they moved to Spencer where she has worked at St. Luke Lutheran Home, A & M Laundry and Eaton's. Grace was a member of the Moose Lodge in Spencer. She enjoyed playing bingo, going shopping with her daughters and grandchildren, going out to eat and spending time with her family. On August 27, 2013, Grace passed away at her home in Spencer at the age of 75. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ronnie; one grandson, Brandon Salberg; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law and best friend, Clifford Handy. Grace is survived by four daughters: Shirley Dykshoorn of Spencer, Vickie Handy of Hartley, Pennie Handy of Spencer and Gayla Saxton and her husband, Steven of Sioux City, IA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
