Greta Fisk

Edith Greta Fisk, the daughter of Sophus and Maren (Jensen) Kanstrup was born January 5, 1931 in Denmark. She moved to America with her family in 1947, at the age of 16, coming through Ellis Island. She lived in Terrill, IA, before she moved to work in Spencer, IA. Greta married Duane Fisk on August 24, 1952 as the first couple to be married at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. They lived and worked on the family farm, before moving to Whittier, CA. They moved back to Spencer in 1963 and owned and operated the Clothes Horse. Greta enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She especially enjoyed her time in the P.E.O. Sisterhood and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Greta passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the age of 86. She was preceded in her death by her parents; and her husband Duane in 2010. Left to cherish her memory are her 4 girls, Pamela (Steve) Comer of Newton, IA, Debbie (Dick) Bristow of Belle Plaine, MN, Judy Adair of Kansas City, MO, and Lisa Fisk and her husband Patrick Wiegers of Granada Hills, CA; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herluf Kanstrup of West Hollywood, CA; additional relatives; and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Spencer Hospital or First English Lutheran Church.
SERVICES
Memorial services will take place 1:30 P.M., Monday, January 16, at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer.
