Harry Joseph Eilers, the son of Harry Herman and Roseanne Vonnahme Eilers, was born July 5, 1929 in St. Louis, MO. As a young child, his family moved to Milford, Iowa where Harry received his early education.
On November 9, 1957, Harry married Lois Thayer in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer. Harry worked at the Spencer Pack for 42 years as a Foreman in the Shipping Department. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard, fishing and hunting. Most of all, Harry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harry passed away on August 28, 2014 at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson, Daniel and sisters, Rosemary Miller and Ella Mae Eilers.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Spencer; three daughters and their husbands: Laurie (Mark) Pearson, Debbie (Dale) Glackin both of Spencer and Jodi (Todd) Harrell of Spring Hills, KS; 7 grandchildren: Joe Gardner, Jeff Gardner, Krista Fuller, Gabbie Pearson, Sara Elizabeth Pearson, Jesse Glackin and Cathrine Glackin; 3 great grandchildren: Gracie, Everett and Bryson Gardner; sister, Mardelle Eilers of Milford; 3 brothers: Harold, Robert both of Milford and Herb Eilers of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer.
